Page 1 of 3 We are sad to announce that Rapsel Tsariwa, TVA’s Managing Director (Program Execution) has resigned from his post because of his personal problems at home. However he will continue to be a member of TVA’s Board of Directors. Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) was co-founded by Rapsel and Jamphel Rinzing (one of TVA's Board Member now) in the year 2002.
Rapsel was hard working, dedicated and a great fund raiser. In the year 2000 and 2001 with the help from a few of his friends (Tenzin Gatop, Sonam Tsering, Lobsang Dhundup and a few others) began documenting the horrific scenes at different slaughter houses in India. With these videos he traveled all across India with a few volunteers, campaigning for Vegetarianism in the Tibetan Villages. The campaign was a huge success with thousands pledging to be lifelong vegetarians. Later next year (2002), TVA was formed and registered under Karnataka Societies Act 1960 .
TVA was functioning under the leadership of its two Managing Directors since early 2007 – Lobsang Monlam as the Managing Director (Administration) and Rapsel Tsariwa as the Managing Director (Program Execution). Prior to that TVA was functioning under the leadership of Rapsel alone. The program execution responsibilities from now on will be carried by Mr. Monlam till TVA’s next Board Meeting. TVA’s Managing Directors are directly appointed by its Board of Directors.
Let us take this moment to thank Rapsel for his hard work, dedication and tireless efforts in making the voices of the voiceless heard.
On behalf of all the members of TVA, we wish him good luck in all his future endeavors.
